Key West… Day 1

Key West is a much longer road trip than I anticipated. I mean, I knew it would be a long drive. But I guess it didn’t exactly click exactly HOW long it would be hahaha. The nice thing though, is that we wanted to take our time and enjoy the trip. So we made stops, took turns driving, and had fun with it. We took pictures next to signs, except for Georgia because I was driving and Josh was sleeping and it was the middle of the night. We also stopped to watch a movie (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, HILARIOUS) so we just had a bunch of fun.

Once we finished the stopping and started driving straight we eventually hit the bridges that take you from Florida to the Keys. Not going to lie, opening the window sometimes smelled horrible; swamplands… not a pleasant stench. But the view? Was BEAUTIFUL! I mean yeah you have the ocean to your left and your right. But you also have the clouds and they looked amazing. I set up the GoPro as a dash cam to get some of the bridges and road for you.

And Finally in the end. We get to the cottage that will be our home for the next week. We will be spending most of our days here together. Relaxing, spending time together. Its absolutely fairytale. The entrance the sheer curtains on the porch, the quaint and yet perfect pool. Everything about this is beautiful and lovely. There’s even chickens and roosters randomly roaming across the streets. Shop owners put out bowls of water for them. They’re so cute. I apologize, these photos below were all taken with my phone so the quality’s not perfect.

Miscellaneous Photos, Miscellaneous Photographer

I never claim to be a professional photographer. By far I am nowhere compared to one. I’m amateurish at best. But I am a photographer:

Photographer

Def: A person who takes photos.

I love to take photos and use whatever camera I have on hand. Be it my phone or my Canon. As a ‘person who takes photos,’ I’ve accumulated a lot of miscellaneous photos, brief glimpses into my life and many times these photos can get missed. Overlooked. Some photographers might view these pictures as flawed, not post worthy, low quality. But I like them, flaws and all. These are all random but all recently taken (within the last week).

Elizabethan Gardens and the Beach

This Saturday was an interesting adventure.

Spontaneous.

It was a beautiful day out so we wanted to go to the aquarium. Well, half-way towards the the aquarium we realized how ill-prepared we were. Our phones were both dying (aka GPS was becoming unavailable). It took 3 hours to get to this aquarium only to discover that…

Aquarium is closed for renovations.

So theIMG_0864re we were, stranded in the Outerbanks with no phones, no aquarium. Only ourselves and my camera. So we explored. We found the Elizabethan Gardens near the Lost Colony theater (no shows were playing but the gardens were still open) the scenery was beautiful and we got a good walk out of it. It was interesting.

$50 later…

We had to stop at an auto-zone to buy car chargers for our phones. We had dinner on a water-front restaurant and walked on Jennettes Pier all the way to the very end. It was very windy but I loved it. I’ve always loved the ocean. Some people find it slightly depressing. No idea why. But I loved it. I could sit there and listen to the sound of those waves forever. But alas we couldn’t stay there forever. We had a wonderful adventure and lots of great memories. But in the end here is what happens when a girl and a guy have nothing but a camera and a remote.

We are dorks.
