Macro Jewels

Hello My Hopefully Happy Followers.

Are you really out there? I never hear from you. So. Happy Chinese New Year, Happy Presidents Day, Happy Valentines day. And any other holidays in between.

Life’s been a blur of training and wedding planning. It has definitely been a stressful time but all is starting to look brighter.

Not a big post today, I haven’t really traveled or explored small towns nearby. Other than the crazy life the weather in NC has been seriously all out of whack.

Monday we had freezing rain cover the highways into a sheet of solid ice, sending cars and people into ditches and walls.

Tuesday and it was 51 degrees when I woke up at 6AM. Someone please explain this weather to me. (And don’t say global warming)

Totally random day today. But here’s some macro shots of a real jewel (diamond ring) and a fake red gem in a hair clip.

The Smokies

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to everyone! I just got back home from the mountains. The good ol’ Smokies. I have been to these mountains in Tennessee but never had a chance to go through and take pictures of the scenic route. It’s been a long day today. A lot of driving.

7… the number of hours I was in a car.

340… number of miles from my apartment to Knoxville,

and…

43… the total number of SEMI trucks I had to pass before getting home. I don’t like semi-trucks. They are road hogs that take up the entire high-way. But I am home now. All’s well. And I’m exhausted.

Enjoy the pictures.

Carolina Tiger Rescue

I can’t remember if I have posted about the Carolina Tiger Rescue before but even if I have I think it is worth another post. I love going to this place and plan on volunteering there when I have the chance. There’s something about spending some time with these big and little cats and wondering what they would say if they could tell you their story. These cats all have interesting backgrounds, many of which are sad, and you learn something new every time you visit. I love these animals and can’t wait to go back. My battery died half way through the twilight tour so I don’t have too many pictures but I’ll get some more. I’d love to go there and just sit there and listen to the sounds. It is amazing to hear the lions bellowing and carrying on a conversation with each other.
