Miscellaneous Photos, Miscellaneous Photographer

I never claim to be a professional photographer. By far I am nowhere compared to one. I’m amateurish at best. But I am a photographer:

Photographer

Def: A person who takes photos.

I love to take photos and use whatever camera I have on hand. Be it my phone or my Canon. As a ‘person who takes photos,’ I’ve accumulated a lot of miscellaneous photos, brief glimpses into my life and many times these photos can get missed. Overlooked. Some photographers might view these pictures as flawed, not post worthy, low quality. But I like them, flaws and all. These are all random but all recently taken (within the last week).

Elizabethan Gardens and the Beach

This Saturday was an interesting adventure.

Spontaneous.

It was a beautiful day out so we wanted to go to the aquarium. Well, half-way towards the the aquarium we realized how ill-prepared we were. Our phones were both dying (aka GPS was becoming unavailable). It took 3 hours to get to this aquarium only to discover that…

Aquarium is closed for renovations.

So theIMG_0864re we were, stranded in the Outerbanks with no phones, no aquarium. Only ourselves and my camera. So we explored. We found the Elizabethan Gardens near the Lost Colony theater (no shows were playing but the gardens were still open) the scenery was beautiful and we got a good walk out of it. It was interesting.

$50 later…

We had to stop at an auto-zone to buy car chargers for our phones. We had dinner on a water-front restaurant and walked on Jennettes Pier all the way to the very end. It was very windy but I loved it. I’ve always loved the ocean. Some people find it slightly depressing. No idea why. But I loved it. I could sit there and listen to the sound of those waves forever. But alas we couldn’t stay there forever. We had a wonderful adventure and lots of great memories. But in the end here is what happens when a girl and a guy have nothing but a camera and a remote.

We are dorks.

Who Am I?

5You know it’s amazing to realize this but I have run this blog for 5 years now. That’s half a decade. And yet not once have ever told you about me. You probably know very little about me. I mean sure there’s the About page but how much does that really tell you? You might know my age, gender, how Liteom got started. But about me how much do you truly know?

The truth is even I don’t know a lot about myself. I’m learning new stuff about me every day.

I take pictures because I don’t like to be in front of the camera. I prefer to show others what I see and some times I feel like I see better through a camera than through my own eyes. It’s as if the camera lens is a filter to showing me the world. I don’t take mind blowing pictures and I’m not a professional photographer, I am just a girl who picked up her first camera in 2010 and fell in love with she saw.

I’m a photographer.

I’m not a wise or smart person despite what some people seem to think. I struggled during school and had a tough time making friends. But I had a teacher who taught me more than just textbook material. Taught me that just having someone listen to 4you often helps you solve your own issues, a lesson I took with me as I moved through my career. I fix computers, servers, and any technology is a passion. Technology is supposed to make your life easier but as we all know that’s not the always case. But listening to a problem and figuring out how to fix it, well that’s what I do every day.

I’m a geek.

I’m sure as you’re reading this you’re finding a large number of spelling and grammatical errors. I read over my posts, honestly, I do. But grammar has never been my strong suit. I know the world 1is full of grammar nazis and many people don’t like them but I don’t mind, they help me develop even more. My imagination has always been a huge part of my life. I longed for adventure as a kid and thought of any way I could get it. Now I try to put those adventures into words. And I write. And I type. And I have boat loads of errors. But that doesn’t stop me. Because one day I will get that adventure out for others to read and go on the adventure themselves. One day.

I’m a writer.

I am a 24-year-old woman, in most ways I’m a baby. I’m young and have a lot of life experience to gain. I am overly optimistic and have high hopes for my future. You know, I was told that every five or so years your taste buds change. I’m no scientist but it makes sense. I like new foods that I used to never eat. Well, life’s kind of like that too. You meet and like new people. You develop 3new goals and ambitions. You have new dreams for your future.

I’m sure everyone has dreams for their future. They probably have dreams that they never admitted or told anyone before. Many have probably forgotten these dreams, or worse, gave up on them. I have dreams. I have lots of dreams. I dreamt about working in IT and helping people. Now I have new ideas, a new vision for my future. And we’ll see what becomes of it.

I’m a dreamer.

Like all of you, I’m a lot of things. I’m a friend, a lover, a sister, and soon I’ll even be a wife. I like to learn new things and meet new people. But all in all to describe myself I really only need one word. One word that encompasses everything. Something this blog is all about.

If you’ve read all the way down to here then thank you. I hope you’ve learned a little bit about me and maybe even a little bit about you. I started this blog so long ago to try and show people the world through my eyes, I hope I was able to convey this to you. I hope you continue to follow my humble little blog and I hope you’ve enjoyed it. Because in the end all I can tell you about myself is this.

I. Am. Me.

I won’t change. I’ll still be me. My dreams and ambitions might change. My taste buds will change but in the end, I will still be myself. And this will always be Life in the Eyes of Me.
