Thank You for Your Service

This post goes out to all the veterans out there, whether they’re passed, retired, reserved, or active. Until recently I’ve met a few veterans in passing, worked with a few here and there. But my new job, half of the class are vets. I love to sit there and listen to their stories, I learn a lot being the civilian than I am. I hold the veterans in high regards and respect them immensely not only for their services, bravery, and courage but I respect them for the common courtesy and respect that they have towards both their brothers and sisters in arms as well as the civilians they protect. I don’t pretend to understand or fathom what they have to go through for our country and sure there might be a few grouchy joes out there but they probably have a reason behind it.
I respect these brothers and sisters in arms that I work with because even with someone like me, who knows little to nothing about their way of life, they have the patience to explain it. They don’t brush you off as ignorant or say a sharp word. They’re polite. Courteous. And respectful despite your age, race, or gender. I know a few people now that could take a few lessons from these soldiers.

So to all of the soldiers.

To the sailors.

To the pilots.

To everyone who at some point in their life took that oath to serve and protect.

From the bottom of my heart I say thank you. And I pray for those of you still in active duty and/or deployed, let God keep you under His wings of protection and bring you home to your families.

Black and Whites

There is something about a black and white photo that just takes it to a whole new level of ambiance. You can always have pictures of colors and they can be vibrant and beautiful, but black and white photos are some of the most elegant pictures in the book. Recently went to my niece and nephew’s baptism and although I took hundreds of pictures the black and whites are my favorite.

Baptisms are a big thing in the Romanian community/culture. In a matter of speaking if I were to ask another fellow Romanian what the most momentous occasion in one’s life would be they would either say one of the following.

  • Wedding
  • Birth of a child
  • or Baptism

Granted this isn’t the same for everyone one, both in or out of the Romanian community but these three things are BIG things. Take it from someone who has 4 siblings and 21 nieces and nephews. You start with the Baptism, years later you’ve got the wedding, and then BABIES!

Mini Models

Life is always an adventure.

One of the biggest adventures in life that I have seen is family. All families are different all people see things different. Even identical twins (although they may look the same) usually have very different personalities. My family is always growing either by us ‘adopting’ someone as part of our family and just bringing them in and welcoming them with open arms or by the many nieces and nephews I always have. Some of these are getting older some are being born now, either way they are all different even when they look the same. And lets face it kids are hilarious.

I held a mini photo shoot with some of my nieces and nephews so here are my mini models. Gotta love them.
